Sabrina shook her head. “That’s not what I’m talking about. Although, good to know.” She drew in a fortifying breath and continued. “I want a contract. An agreement between us that whatever happens stays between us.” She simply couldn’t stress that enough, and even though they didn’t look pleased by her request, they weren’t jumping to shoot it down either. “I need to cover my bases. If word of this got out, that I was seeing you three, it could ruin me. It could ruin my father, the business, everything. I can’t risk that.”
“We understand,” Conner said, speaking for all three of them. “It’s smart, covering your ass.”
“Whatever it takes,” Oliver concurred, and his hand in hers squeezed, as if to offer his total support.
She appreciated that. This was unlike any venture or deal she’d ever made, and Sabrina would be lying if she claimed that she wasn’t shaking in her boots—or socks, as it were—just a little.
It wasn’t every day that three sexy brothers requested to have sex with you, as a team.
“So…how do we do this? How does this all work?” Sabrina had never been part of a threesome, let alone a polyamorous relationship. In fact, she’d always had a certain amount of prejudice about them, feeling that they were nothing short of an excuse to cheat. Now, even though her ideas on the subject hadn’t been changed, she could feel the draw and sense the underlying reasoning behind it.
They shared a mutual attraction and desire, and instead of creating war between them and fighting it out to see who would win, they were choosing to love and lust together.
She could almost respect that.
“We’ll take it day by day,” Conner answered.
“And what do you expect to have come of it,” she queried. “Is this supposed to be a relationship? Like, monogamous?” She almost laughed at that. Monogamy in a four-way? Good one, Sabrina.
“Yes, if we’re going to do this, it has to be between us,” William stated seriously. “We won’t see any other woman, and you won’t see any men outside of us.”
“As far as a real relationship,” Conner said, “that’s the goal. We’re not really looking for casual, but it can start that way, and we’ll see where it goes. No pressure.”
Oh sure, easy for them to say. No pressure? Sabrina was the one who was expected to entertain three men, when it was hard enough to keep the interest of just one. She couldn’t help feeling like this was a setup for failure, but like Conner said, they could approach this casually and see what happened.
She was okay with seeing what would happen. Life was known to throw curveballs, so it was impossible to say what tomorrow would bring.
Dropping her head down, Sabrina used her free hand to rub her eyes and sighed. “I know this is going to bite me in the ass later…but sure, okay, let’s give it a shot.”
When she lifted her head, Conner, William, and Oliver were grinning like loons.
“You won’t regret it,” William assured her.
Oliver leaned over and kissed her temple sweetly. “And I can assure you the only thing that’s going to bite your ass is us.”
A brilliant flush swept up Sabrina’s neck and into her face, and she looked away, unable to meet their eyes through the rush of embarrassment. She was really going to do this? Yes, she sure was. But first, she needed it in writing.
Chapter Nine
The agreement was finalized two days later over lattes, dark-brew coffee, espresso, and scones. It’d taken some haggling, but they’d eventually reached a meeting of the minds in that Sabrina demanded that there would be no “hanky-panky” in the workplace, nor mention of their arrangement on social media of any kind. Furthermore, her name would not be brought up, ever, whether directly or indirectly, to anyone in a manner that may warrant suspicion.
Sabrina was clear and concise about her expectations, and she wanted no drama whatsoever resulting from this. As far as she was concerned, it would be treated as just another business transaction.
So far, the guys were on board. They didn’t necessarily like everything she put in writing, but they had no choice but to deal with it if they wanted to have any kind of relationship with her that extended beyond the boardroom.
“You drive a hard bargain, Miss Colloway,” William stated as he extended a hand across the table to shake hers.
She gave it two firm pumps, the kind of “male” squeeze she used with all of her counterparts, just to drive the point home that they were playing on even ground.
William smirked in response, the message received. Sabrina held her head high as she then reached out and shook Conner and Oliver’s hands in turn, sealing the deal once and for all.
“So, now that that’s settled…”
Conner’s look was nothing short of devilish, and Sabrina couldn’t miss the thinly veiled meaning behind it. He was eager to seal the deal in other ways, but she was feeling a little…unsure.
Jumping right into sex with three men was intimidating. She needed some time to prepare, mentally and physically. When was the last time she’d gotten a good waxing? Hell, when was the last time she’d had a pedicure? She’d been polishing her nails with clear coat for at least a month, filing the nails on her fingers down to rounded stubs for a fast, practical approach to DIY manicures that wouldn’t take more time than she cared to spend.
Sabrina was only as high-maintenance as her hair and wardrobe dictated. Anything beyond that was asking a lot, when her time was precious and minute.
“Do you want to get out of here?” William asked with a sly smile and wink.
Sabrina glanced at each of them in turn, then sipped her latte for a moment while she gathered her thoughts. She didn’t want to come off as reluctant, but she was. That was the truth, and she would honor it, even if it wasn’t the popular opinion at the table.
“Actually, I’d like to continue this, if you guys don’t mind,” she asserted.
“Sounds good to me.” Oliver smiled at her over his scone as he chomped off a healthy bite and chewed.
It took a moment for the other two to get on board, but then William piped up with, “I do have some paperwork to finish up and a couple of phone calls to make before the day ends.”
“Same here,” Conner added, “and then I have a couple of errands to run before places close.”
“Rain check?” Oliver reached over and grasped Sabrina’s hand—the one not wrapped around her latte cup, and looked at his brothers expectantly.
William and Conner agreed easily and continued eating and drinking their fare in amicable silence. The phones came out soon after, and then everyone was too embroiled in answering emails and returning phone calls to worry about sex and all the finer details.
To be honest, Sabrina hadn’t expected it to be that easy. She hadn’t exactly expected a fight to come out of it, but she had thought to come up against some resistance. Instead, the Hargreaves brothers seemed very amicable and easygoing. As if they actually respected her and her wishes and weren’t at all bothered by meeting her halfway. Or all the way, as the case may be.
They all had their own business and lives to attend to, and she had a feeling that once it was all sorted, they would find the perfect time and place to come together—no pun intended.
Conner rose from the table first, tucking his phone beneath the right breast pocket of his suit jacket. “Well, I hate to spoil the party, but I have to take off. Business meeting in thirty across town.”
“Is that the one with the old broad who’s always trying to grab your ass?” William snickered behind his coffee cup.
Sabrina looked up at Conner, horrified.
Conner attempted to explain. “She’d old money, old values, old business partners—”
“She’s just plain old,” William cut in.
Conner nodded. “She doesn’t mean anything by it. She’s just one of those people who sees something and goes for it. She happens to like younger men.”
“Her current husband is almost forty years her junior,” Oliver imp
arted in a low voice. “She’s worse than some of the men I’ve worked with, and that’s saying something.”
“That’s disgusting.” Sabrina shook her head, ashamed to know another woman would behave in such a manner. “She has no right to put her hands on anyone unwanted.”
“Well, she’s good for business and offers a lot of insight. We can’t afford to lose her.”
Still, Sabrina didn’t like it, which showed in her scowl of disapproval. Man or woman, everyone deserved respect. She had a mind to find out who this woman was and put her on notice. Clearly, it had to be someone in their circle, someone related to her father’s business. Then again, it could be someone outside of their scope with ties to the Hargreaves’ personal affairs and had nothing to do with her. She wanted to know, but she also didn’t want to overstep by prying into business that they weren’t even attempting to volunteer.
“Be that as it may…” Conner shrugged and came around the table to drop a brief kiss on the crown of her head. “I have to go. I’ll see you at the office later?”
Sabrina nodded, mute in her dissatisfaction and disbelief over what she’d just learned.
Once he was gone, leaving just the three of them at the table, silence ensued. But it wasn’t uncomfortable. Everyone still had their own things to do, and they performed their duties methodically and efficiently, all while sharing a nice breakfast together.
Only, Sabrina couldn’t shake that client that Conner had gone off to meet. In an act of pure desperation, she forced the thought of him and the older woman away, determined to focus on her work and her own business. After all, they were not a couple, and she had no vested interest in his personal or professional life…outside of how he spent it with her, of course.
How would they spend their first true day or night together? Would they jump right into the sack together, have a big orgy and then go on their separate ways? Or would they date first, the proper way, with dinner and maybe a movie or a nice walk under the stars before they hit the action button?
She didn’t have any answers or any ideas, but the longer she gave it thought, the more Sabrina’s eagerness grew. She wanted these men, all three of them, and she didn’t truly care how she reached that outcome. She just knew that she was going to get a piece of each of them, come hell or high water. They had a binding agreement, after all, even if it would never reach a court of law or another pair of eyes should any of them deviate from the plan.
It was more of a safeguard, a gentleman’s agreement, if you will. Sabrina had no illusions that, if they wanted to, the Hargreaves could royally screw her seven ways from Sunday and there wasn’t a thing she could do about it. But after their breakfast this morning and seeing how gentlemanly and thoughtful they could be, she had reached the supposition that they weren’t that kind of people. The Hargreaves brothers seemed genuine and caring, and they’d set their sights on her for some reason, making her the lucky beneficiary of their affections. It only stood to reason that the same considerations would extend to the bedroom, and where a man aimed to please in the boardroom, he surely aimed to please outside of it, right?
Only time would tell, but Sabrina was banking on it.
“I should get going myself,” she announced as she gathered her trash and stood from the table. William and Oliver followed suit, apparently having been waiting for her.
“Are you headed back to the office?”
Sabrina consulted with her phone, seeing that it was nearly noon. Almost lunchtime, and here she’d just finished brunch. She wasn’t hungry, so she might as well get on with her workday.
“Yeah, I’d better. Shawna is probably having a coronary, since I didn’t check in with her yet today to ensure I’m still alive.” She shot them a cocky look, complete with raised eyebrow. The reference to their earlier freak-out resulting in all three brothers showing up at her door, demanding an explanation, wasn’t lost on either of them.
“It’s good to have people who care about you,” Oliver placated her. Sliding up alongside her, he lifted his arm as if to sling it over her shoulder and then thought better of it, dropping the appendage back to his side as they made their collective way to the door.
An electronic bell chimed their departure as they stepped out into the subtle heat of the approaching summer air.
“Yes, and it’s also good to just take a day off and rest without being harassed.”
“Is that what you call us checking up on you?” William asked, sounding offended. “Because I see it as a compliment that we would think enough of you to take time out of our busy schedules to come make sure you hadn’t been kidnapped or murdered.”
Sabrina felt her hackles rise. “A compliment? I sure hope you don’t think I owe you something for taking time out of your precious schedule, which I didn’t ask you to do, by the way.”
Oliver moved to smooth things over in that quiet, gentle way of his. “Hey now, you two, let’s not fight.”
“Why not?” Despite the tension Sabrina felt, William was clearly enjoying himself. “This is our first real fight. We’ve only just started dating and already we’re acting like a real couple. I call this a win!”
Was he serious? Sabrina was flabbergasted. Couldn’t believe what she was seeing and hearing. He was actually…happy they were arguing? Was William out of his mind? Of the three of them, clearly he was the unstable one.
“You need medication,” she said earnestly, then quickened her pace toward a waiting cab in the distance. In the city, they were a dime a dozen, but they were also in high demand, and if she didn’t claim it now, it would be gone in the snap of a finger.
As it turned out, she didn’t have to worry about that. With a lift of his arm and a shrill whistle issued through his teeth, William caught the attention of a passing cab driver, and within seconds, the car was pulling to a stop at the curb beside them.
She looked at William in astonishment. “How’d you do that?”
He appeared truly puzzled by the question. “What do you mean?
Oliver was already opening the rear passenger door and sliding into the back seat. As she’d noticed before, the men enjoyed sandwiching her between them, and she didn’t know if that was a dominance thing or if it was a protection thing, but she kind of liked it.
They walked and talked. “I mean, I’ve never been able to get a cab like that. I always have to chase them down. Sometimes I have to get into a wrestling match with other people just to keep it. It’s a war zone out here.”
Now William stared down at her as if Sabrina were a crazy woman. “I can’t say that I’ve ever had that happen.”
As Sabrina crawled into the back seat and made room for William, she adjusted her skirt and wondered all the while if this whole cab situation was yet another perk of having a prick between your legs. As a woman, did she have to struggle for a simple ride to work because she was born with the wrong equipment, or was she making too much out of it?
The thought was dropped as they drove down the city streets, fighting their way through noonday traffic, in lieu of the attention that was now being directed at her. From either side, William and Oliver were making moves, each placing a large hand on her thigh and together raising the tight, stretchy fabric of her black pencil skirt higher, until her knees were bared and a cool breeze kissed her center.
That cool breeze turned molten the second Oliver leaned closer and touched his lips to her ear. “Have you ever made out in the back seat of a cab?”
Sabrina’s breathing grew heavier, choppier as images inspired by such simple words appeared behind her closed eyelids. She shook her head. She’d kissed in a cab before, but she’d never dared to go further. Not with prying eyes watching her every move.
William’s hand dared to inch higher, his pinky finger tracing the center of her silk panties and teasing her rapidly swelling clit.
“How about getting fingered?” Oliver asked, his tone hushed. “Has anyone ever fingered you in a cab before?”
He knew the answer,
the bastard, and he knew she knew it. Sabrina’s inability to speak said it all. He went on, as if dictating his brother’s every move.
“Have you ever been penetrated in the back seat of any car, Sabrina? Felt the fullness of a man’s fingers sliding into your tight little cunt, the heat of your pussy gripping him tight, begging him to go deeper, to reach that spot you need so badly?”
Sabrina’s eyes were rolling into the back of her head as William did just that. It was as if they were acting out a script, and she was their subject, their pawn to be played with however they chose.
“This…this…wasn’t…part of…the agreement,” she panted on a whisper so the cabbie—hopefully—wouldn’t overhear. How humiliating would it be to meet the driver’s eyes as she came? She’d die of embarrassment.
William and Oliver chuckled to themselves. Oliver said, “This isn’t in the contract, sweet girl.”
Somewhere between the fog of pleasure brought on by William’s continuously massaging and probing fingers and the delicious sound of Oliver’s smooth, sensual voice in her ear, Sabrina had the presence of mind to review said contract…and he was right. She hadn’t considered this. Clever men that they were, they’d found a loophole, and an obvious one too. She should have taken more time to think it through, to consider all the possibilities. But Sabrina had been hasty and, clearly, negligible, and now here she was, getting finger-blasted in the back seat of a dirty cab in the middle of traffic, and there wasn’t a single argument she could make because they weren’t in violation of their agreement.
Damn them. Damn them all.
“Damn…” she breathed, feeling that fullness in her loins, the creeping tension rising within her, the molten heat that signaled her oncoming orgasm. She couldn’t keep it at bay if she tried, and there would be no trying. Not now, not ever. These men wouldn’t allow it. She knew that with the very breath in her body that they aimed to wring every last drop of pleasure from her as if it were their life’s mission.
